Well, Christmas has come and gone. The after Christmas sales are in full swing.

Getting ready for Christmas
Just a quick update for December. I'm working full time at the baseball bat place. I am also buying most of the Christmas presents again. I have bought my dad some clothes and other things. My sister has also bought some things, but I don't know what yet. Money is still tight.

Two years is long enough
I was looking at old blog posts about the YouTube channel I want to start called "cheap gear" and realized the oldest was two years old. Time to quit cutting bait and start fishing. I'll have to get a camera, microphone and some editing software. I'm not getting free software either. This is going to be professional grade stuff.
I can set it up in the spare room downstairs, right across the hall from my bedroom. I'll set up a workstation on the table, build an amp cradle and speaker coffin, and start getting a collection of tubes and electronics parts. I'll also need all the hardware that are associated with amps and guitars.
Scratch that. I can't do it.

Day shift difficulties
Getting up super early isn't difficult for me, but it's taking a toll on my home life. At first my dad was really emotional about it thinking I was going to make so much money at it that I was going to move out and leave him alone. I finally got him to tell me why he was so upset, and when he told me I had to reassure him I was not moving out and leaving him alone. He calmed down after that. It's still tough, though. I want to see if there's any way I can move to the night shift. Things go so much easier when I'm here in the morning.

Got promoted
I have been moved to the day shift. I get up at 3 am and get to work by 5. I'm in the shipping department and I spend most of my time at the parcel computer doing FedEx and UPS shipments. I got a pay cut to $11/hour, though.

Job update
The baseball bat place doesn't have any work for the next few weeks. So, here I am, writing on this little device...
YouTube channels...
I've been thinking about all the possible channels I want to start on YouTube. The list includes the following:
1. Gospel studies: a channel where I talk about various Gospel subjects.
2. Investment advice: a channel where I talk about the different ways you can invest to create jobs. I detailed this in a previous blog post.
3. Slavery: I don't know how I would do this channel. Whenever this subject comes up my ears perk up, and I've given it some thought lately. When I was young I heard that there were 25 million people that had to live in slavery. One million were outright slaves, in the traditional sense, and the rest were living in countries that allowed some sort of debt bondage.
4. Writing: a channel where I talk about all the things I am writing and how I rewrite it.
Looking this list over I can safely say there is very little to motivate me to write any of these channels. I am really interested in the electronics hobby and would enjoy getting all OCD about electric guitars, amps and effects. But I feel that there is a more good, potentially a lot more good, in the first three things on the list. The thing to do is to pray for help in doing those channels, and then do them. Maybe writing fiction and blogging could be my main source of income, while I could limit the time I spend on the Cheap Gear vlog.

Rice and Beans
I was thinking of starting a restaurant called R&B, or Rice and Beans. You can add any flavorings, bullions or spices to rice and beans and get delicious foods that are very nutritious. It can be kept low priced if you don't add meat or expensive ingredients. You could branch out into other grains like barley, or other legumes like lentils. I would like to offer brown rice as well as white, then pour over stock from meat, poultry, fish or vegetables.
I once realized lentils and barley take about the same time to cook and started making stews with them, mixing other vegetables and stuff with them. I remember coming up with an upscale recipe that had wild rice and something else, some bullion or vegetable. I don't remember what it was. It was delicious though.
Anyway, I was thinking of making a restaurant menu that allowed patrons to order whichever rice they liked, whatever legumes they like, served with the stock and vegetables of their choice, for five bucks or less. There could be upscale versions of this same menu that serve the rice and beans on a plate, separated, with meat and vegetables separate. The stock wouldn't have to be from bullion. It would be better to make demi gloss and stocks from whatever, including a couple of different vegetables. There would be all kinds of room for expansion.

Racial imbalance in IQ tests
I remember seeing a gal on TV saying that different races have different average IQs. The examples she gave were Jewish people with averages in the 110s while black people had an average around 80. I don't remember what the other races were, but those were the extremes.
Before I debunk that, let me ask you this: Did you know it's possible to cram for an IQ test? It's true! You can't increase your IQ, but all tests will test your test-taking ability, as well as whatever they are testing for. It's the inherent nature of tests, and something I don't know how to fix.
Anyway, you get a few books of IQ tests, study them, then take the test. Boom. You score higher, even though your IQ is the same.
Think about the kinds of schools black kids and Jewish kids go to. Lots of black kids go to these inferior inner city schools, but lots of Jewish kids are going to private schools. I think the private schools are doing a better job of educating kids to take tests, so they are going to score higher on the IQ tests.
Let's suppose you corrected for these variables by bringing up a large portion of each race in the same school, teaching them similar things and so forth. There are such a wide variety of IQs in each race that these statistics are useless even if you found that there are different average IQs. There are going to be so many of each race that are above and below average that any attempt at profiling is simply a waste of time.
Screw that. Here's a way to check quickly: test the IQ's of Catholic schools. These are usually white kids, not in any way reflecting the demographics of any of these other groups. If their average IQ is around 110 it's because you are testing a population that sends its kids to private schools.

Attention Business People
Following is a link to a YouTube video on how to eradicate slavery in your own supply chain. Maybe if everyone in the West did this we can eradicate it globally.

On the run from the IRS ...
Just got a call from 352 81 87 14 7. That's the way it appears on my call log. It was a recording of a woman saying she was calling from the IRS and they were going to sue me and I had to call them back. She pronounced the number 352, pause, 818, pause, 7147. When I checked the number on my phone the pauses were in the wrong spots, so I went to the police department and asked and they said it's a scam. There's a YouTube channel that has this guy calling scammers and harassing them. Maybe I could get him to do a video about this.
I found out a little later that they only keep these numbers up and active for a few hours. Maybe I'll edit this post a little later and take out the actual number.

Can't write
I can only write when I feel content. I don't feel content. I'm going broke again even though I'm managing my money carefully. On top of that I don't feel safe here.

Leap day update
It's February 29th. I thought it might be a good idea to post something every leap day. Can't think of anything though.
I think it might be time to share with you some of the sources I get ideas from. Some YouTube channels I like are Uncle Doug, eevblog, anything else with tubes, clickspring, and I'm looking for more woodworking channels.

January Update
Got hired back at the baseball bat place. Even got a promotion! I'm taking over the job of a guy named Troy, working on the computer and doing some paperwork. Healthcare seems to have gone off without a hitch also. I don't even owe anything. At first I thought I would have to pay about 20 bucks a month but my first bill came and it said I don't pay anything.
My back hurts, though. I've been doing stretches and warm up exercises at work and it seems to help. I also stand with one foot on a pallet or box, then switch to a different foot.
